Responsible and sustainable tourism certifications are still relatively new in most countries across Africa and lower income regions. Many countries do not yet have meaningful responsible travel audit programs.
In order to offer an inclusive sustainability solution that is accessible to small businesses and lower income destinations globally, we have entered into a partnership with Travelife and defined a phased Sustainability Verification Process.
We refer to companies in the first stage of this process, when they do not yet have an independent sustainability verification but are committed to become independently audited for sustainability according to our sourcing criteria, as Fair Voyage Curated.
