Barafu Camp | Fair Voyage

OUR TOP PICKS FOR YOU IN 2024 – LOVED BY FAIR VOYAGE TRAVELERS

Barafu Camp is a campsite on Mount Kilimanjaro, situated at an altitude of 4,673 meters (15,330 feet). It is used as last camp before climbers attempt the final summit push on the Southern Circuit routes including the Machame, Lemosho and Umbwe routes. It is also the first camp that all climbers (except those on the Marangu/Rongai Routes) will pass on their descent from the peak.

This makes Barafu Camp the busiest base camp on Mount Kilimanjaro, ahead of Kibo Hut to the east and the least visited School Hut base camp which is only used by the northern routes.
