You will be driven to the southeast to reach your today’s destination, the Mahanoro village, a drive on an optimal bituminized road of about 4 hours. Mahanoro is a small town near the sea.

A word of warning: this side of Madagascar is not suitable for swimming because of the lack of coral reefs and therefore easily accessible to sharks. Mahanoro is the starting point of a very local drive across the Pangalanes Channel in the early morning of the next day.

Your accommodation is Hotel Tropicana by the sea - please note that Mahanoro is anything but touristy, a true local community. In the evening you will be introduced to Mrs. Caroline, your guide in the region and the coordinator of the project Abecole. She knows the region best and will accompany you in the next few days.
