A stop at a Maasai tribe village is a must-see for many visitors to Tanzania. The location of the Maasai Village near Olduvai makes it conveniently accessible when visiting the Serengeti, best visited in the afternoon en-route to Ngorongoro Crater.

A visit will educate you on the Maasai lifestyle, taking you through their mud-houses, showing you how meals are prepared, and of course, an opportunity to jump alongside Maasai warriors with the African savanna in your backdrop.

A word of caution: Travellers often perceive a short visit at a Maasai village as overly touristic and irritating.
