In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, requiring tourism businesses to invest in the provision of utilities can make the difference in achieving water access and security, as well as hygiene and sanitation, for all. ⠀

Other initiatives that can support the access to and protection of water are the use of new equipment and technologies as well as regulated standards and certifications. Community involvement plays a major role too, in combination with prevention programs for security and health.
