This is why: Achieving food security and nutrition happens by promoting sustainable agriculture. Shah Tours actively supports this by buying fresh produce from local markets and stores. Additionally, they sell or promote local fair trade products to tourists.
Besides local employment, involving the host community in agro-tourism, the protection of wildlife and ecosystems can help them generate additional income while enhancing the value of the tourism experience. Shah Tours organises visits to local coffee plantations to support the local farmers. They also make sure that trips to, for example, Masai Villages do not negatively impact the host community and environment. They do this by respectfully visiting authentic villages and avoiding commercial ones.
