Calculator Purpose and Output (Including Why 0 and How to Get Correct Output)

We developed our carbon calculator in 2020, in partnership with Compensaid (powered by MyClimate), a Lufthansa Innovation startup at the time. Since then, the B2B calculator and API services of Compensaid for external clients were spun off into squake.earth, a newly formed company.

Due to this change, as well as changes in our business model to focus on tailor-made slow trips for comprehensive Positive Climate Action that better reflects and mitigates the entire impact of our trips (not just offset our carbon footprint), our API was discontinued.

To be able to keep using the API provided by squake.earth, we would need to pay monthly API costs which we currently cannot justify as a social enterprise. Therefore, you are currently not seeing any values other than zero (0) in the CO2 footprint and price calculation output.

Independent of the calculation output, our carbon calculator continues to accurately illustrate our calculation approach, which we now follow periodically based on our aggregate trip volumes by accessing the calculators provided by Compensaid or MyClimate on their websites, free to use.
